A warm welcome to the website of the City of Bath Male Choir, founded in February 2006 by Grenville Jones, a Choir that is making a BIG sound and gaining a huge reputation. You may have seen the City of Bath Male Choir on the BBC Last Choir Standing TV show?

Choir members come from across the area and is for men between 16 and 65 who love to sing, you can read some of their comments on our website. The Choir was formed by Grenville Jones in January 2006 and now totals over 80 singers, the "Wall of Sound" is getting bigger and bigger!

2008 has been another very busy year for the Choir who visited Alkmaar in Holland in June. Alkmaar is Bath’s twin town and The Mayor of Bath (The Choir Patron) accompanied the Choir on the concert tour. The annual concert this year is moving to the Bath Forum, full details below. It has the top six Choirs singing 2 songs each – Bath Male Choir perform Something And Can’t Take my Eyes Off You. There are 20 tracks with seven of the show-stopping group numbers as well.

Our next concert date

CHRISTMAS at The FORUM - Bath
Saturday December 13th

Bath Male Choir will also be making a guest appearance at Bath’s BIG Christmas show which will also take place at the Bath Forum on Saturday December 13th. This is an annual MUST for concert goers and always attracts an audience of 1500 people.

Appearing that night will be two of Grenville’s other music groups, the celebrated Silver Ring Choir of Bath (fresh back from a 2 week September concert tour of Canada) The fantastic Stockingtops girls group (no wonder Mr Jones always has a smile on his face) plus the Susan Hill School of Dancing, a brilliant group of young people who will be setting the stage alight.

Tickets are already selling very quickly for this concert and they are priced from £8 - £25.

Over a weekend in June 2007, the Choir recorded its first CD at Beechen Cliff Methodist Church. The CD is called Anthem  and has 9 items, is priced £7, £10 to include postage and packing. The repertoire of the Choir is wide and varied from modern pieces through to the more unusual. Grenville has set himself a target of building the Choir to 80 voices – you could be one of them. Come along and meet The City of Bath Male Choir at one of our rehearsals.
